Asean Dengue Day in Santa Barbara as Barangay Claimed town’s first fatality in 2017

Nature will have its way of reminding humanity how awfully forgetful and careless we can be.

The death of a four year old dampened one of the busy alley along Aldama when dengue claimed its first casualty for Baliwag. This is despite government’s continuous efforts to remind people to keep a neat and clean surroundings. A water reservoir can be potentially be nurturing for mosquitoes.

Pagmaduming lugar tulad ng kanal, hindi nawawalis na mga tambakan at mga patubigan hindi tumatakbo ang tubig ay pagmumulan ng lamok.

Today, June 30th coincides with the Asean Dengue Day and several events are slated at Pinagpala, Sta Barbara to once again remind them that when we take for granted nature, it will adapt and take its course faster than expected. Unfortunately, nobody may not be ready when that comes.

Plastic Reduction

MENRO Head Edgar Luna reminded people to segregate, mind trash and be responsible. Aniya, “hindi lang natin alam pero babalik at babalik pa rin sa atin ang mga basurang itinapon natin.”

In July, Baliwag will begin to fully implement the no plastic no styro policy to reduce trash.
