Dr. Alicia Santiago-Bustos, 1930-2017

Dr. Alicia Santiago -Bustos will be laid to rest this afternoon at the Heritage Park Cemetery after the 3:00 o’clock requiem mass. 

Recognized for her leadership in forming PACUCOA or the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation, she championed standardization of academic programs offered by the different colleges and universities. Most importantly, Dr. Bustos ushered Baliuag Colleges to become a university and the first University in Central Luzon to be granted autonomy status by the Commission on Higher Education.

She was a Dangal ng Baliwag and Dangal ng Lipi sa Larangan ng Edukasyon, Huwarang Anak ng Bulacan and PACU’s 2012 Person of the Year.

She is survived by children – Pat, Susan, Norman, Monina, Alice and Jessie, in-laws and grandchildren.
