Gumaca, Quezon Officials visit Baliwag for Benchmarking Activity

Members of the Sangguniang Bayan ng Gumaca, Quezon were welcomed by Officials of the Local Government of Baliwag signaling the start of their one-day benchmarking activity. Despite the long drive from Gumaca to Baliwag, officials arrived still, very eager to observe and learn from the best practices being implemented by the Municipal Government of Baliwag particularly in the areas of economic enterprise, reorganization and financial administration. 

Gumaca Officials requested to conduct a benchmarking activity to narrow the gap in lowering the Internal Revenue Allotment dependcy of Gumaca which presently stands at 70% Baliwag was 46 in 2013; 48 in 2014; and 52 in 2016. The trend for Baliwag showed signs of inefficiency as the Municipality became more dependent on the income from the national government. 

Mayor Ferdie Estrella received the officials in his office. The delegation was ushered to the conference hall for the presentation proper. On the side of the LGU Baliwag, Municipal Administrator Enrique Tagle welcomed the delegation with Mun Treasurer Marty Javier, MPDC Engr Mency de Leon, Budget Jojie Tanggol, Accountant Rhea Payuran and MEEM Chief Tess Fabian. Councilor Dingdong Nicolas, chair of the Committee on Trade received his counterparts on behalf of the SB Baliwag.

MA Tagle presented the Information on socio-economic, NCC Data, finance improvement plan and the best practices in corporatizing the bureaucracy.  At the end, Mayor Ferdie expressed his willingness to have a twining agreement with Gumaca and he looks forward to visiting their town as well.

Hon. Councilors Priscila Magbuhos, Marilou Mendoza, Noel Capisonda and Municipal Treasurer Nancy Baretto were tasked by the Mayor of Gumaca to benchmark on different towns to imbibe their best practices to close the gap of brought by extreme IRA dependency.
