Mayor Ferdie Estrella ordered Joint Inspection Team and Barangay Captains to check conditions of dormitories, School canteens and eateries/peddlers within university zone. 

Baliwag, Bulacan Mayor Ferdie Estrella ordered its newly-created Join Inspection and Assessment Team to focus on dormitories, dormitels, pension houses or apartments  normally rented by students and teachers from other towns. Bedspacers are common in Barangays Poblacion, Sto Cristo, Concepcion and San Jose because of its proximity to colleges and universities. Baliwag is a center of education in the province with students coming from as far as  Nueva Ejica and Pampanga. Baliuag University is granted Autonomous Status and is one of the premier universities in the nation.

Food Safety
Likewise, Mayor Ferdie asked another member of the Joint Inspection Team, Health Sanitation to make sure no table is left unturned for canteens, eateries inlcuding peddlers. Food preparation area must be inspected making sure that the food of our children are prepared properly.

Cleaning materials or chemicals must not in anyway be found where the food is prepared to avoid it from accidentally mixing it with food ingredients.

NO SMOKING ZONE
Meanwhile, Baliwag Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Mary Joan Dinlasan, reminded BARANGAY CAPTAINS, SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS AND PTA’s to help the ecopolice enforced the NO SMOKING Law. Baliwag has an ordinance and an executive order to that effect. 

Somestreets will really be no smoking streets and no cigarette selling by mere presence of schools and hospitals.

JOINT INSPECTION 

The Joint Inspection and Assessment Team or JIAT is created by virtue of an Executive Order signed by Mayor Ferdie to rationalize inspection of the different inspection units of the Municipality of Baliwag. It is chaired by the Municipal Administrator and composed of the following Offices: Business Permits and Licensing Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, Zoning, Engineering, Assesor’s, Health Sanitation, MENRO and DRRMO.
