The Municipality of Baliwag under the leadership of Mayor Ferdinand V. Estrella gives its full support to the Government Internship Program (GIP) of the Department of Labor and Employment and Hon. Gavini “Apol” Pancho. This program is a component of the government’s Kabataan 2000 project under Executive Order No. 139 Series of 1993, which aims to provide opportunities to young workers to serve the general public through the projects and services of government agencies and offices at both local and national level. Aside from helping them financially, the program also introduce the youth to public service and serves as a recruitment mechanism for potential public employees.
Department of Labor and Employment LEO III – Ms. Melanie L. Nario, conducted an orientation last May 10, 2017 at McDonalds Baliwag. She briefly discussed the requirements to qualify for the GIP. She also mentioned that the interns shall receive allowances amounting to 75 percent of the existing minimum wage applicable to their assigned DOLE agencies/offices.
“You are selected to join this program and I believe you are the best and brightest who can perform the job”, Ms. Nario said.
Hon. Gavini “Apol” Pancho – District Representative Bulacan, 2nd District, was also present to give an inspirational message to the participants and shared what are the advantages and benefits to be part of this young public servants program.
“This program would not only help you with your financial needs, but would help you develop and acquire self-confidence, professionalism, and a working experience that would integrate your skills, potentials, and talents. It would also empower and equip the youth for their future careers and as well as contribution in government service.” Hon. Pancho said.
His sister, Ms. Augustina Dominique Pancho – Chief of Staff, encourage the participants to perform well and do their best with the task that will be given so department heads may see their potential and would lead to possible extension or job absorption.
The participants accomplished the application forms and submitted the requirements. They will be advised as to the signing of contract schedule. They are also expected to start and be deployed on 1st of June, 2017 to the different offices in the Local Government Unit of Baliwag.
